Home Education rewrites the story

For over 5 years, we have been rewriting life stories through quality education.

“Teach for Romania is only a handful of people, but a handful of people who managed to prepare over 7,000 children in just 5 years. I cannot help wondering how many wonderful things we can do together. The key to transforming education comes from communities. We are the ones who have the responsibility of educating children in Romania, of their future, but especially of their present. We can do anything together. Here and now. We need to thank everyone for this great “together” – Corina Puiu, Co-founder and General Manager of Teach for Romania.

On November 6th, 2018, we gathered together at the Cotroceni Palace to celebrate the achievements of Teach for Romania in our 5 years of activity, alongside our dear friends, supporters of our cause.

The “Education Rewrites the Story” conference facilitated the debate on some of the most important topics in the field of education and brought together minds and souls in a connection space with the beneficiaries of our program: teachers supported by Teach for Romania, students, alumni, program and development teams of Teach for Romania.

The event also marked the end of one of our main projects – A New Way for New Talents in Teaching, a project co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Key Axis 3 program, carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the University of Bucharest – Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences.

The influence of the program approached by NEWTT, which focused on the professional and personal development of teachers and included recruitment, selection, initial training, continuous training (2 years), qualification in primary and pre-primary education, coaching and mentoring at work, is an impressive one in the Teach for Romania organization: 70% of the total number of third generation alumni (project intervention group) are still teaching.
